Help Us Avoid Eviction and Keep Us in Our Home This Holiday
Donation protected
It takes quite a bit of courage to share the financial difficulties that our family is currently experiencing and sharing them in public, but at this point we have no choice. My wife, Kris, and I were loaned limited funds by close family and friends because they had very few resources themselves with which to help us, so we have now taken the leap in asking through our GoFundMe. We really appreciate your time just reading this and want to thank you for stopping by to read this if you've happened upon it or if it's been forwarded to you. So, because our goal is to shelter our three children now which will require paying back rent for November and December, so that they will be able to stay in school uninterrupted, we have decided to turn to our friends in the online community. Our landlord by no means is a Scrooge, but his patience is wearing thin, and we highly doubt that he will allow us to stay much longer -- perhaps not even through December. It's a very stressful situation for all of us, especially with the holidays fast approaching.
The major issues are that my wife, who is employed as a nurse, had been looking for this position for quite some time. Although I also work full-time, our family needs two incomes to survive, Unfortunately, it took Kris 6 months to find her new job, and we were slowly falling behind on our bills. So not only are we now behind two months in rent, but we also have back bills for water/power and gas, we have to keep food on the table, we have the expenses of three children as well as expenses around the home.
Our best estimate is that it will take us about three months to recover from this "hiccup," until back rent and utilities can be brought current. So, we're asking you to contribute whatever you can -- every dollar really does add up. If you can't make a donation, sometimes it's just as valuable for you to pass it on to someone else online or to someone else you know.
Again, our goal is to stay in our home, particularly through the holidays. The thought of being homeless in the month of December is stressful, frightening and not something we would want to have to tell our three children. We don't have an alternate plan so we are just hoping and praying that the kindness of friends (and also some strangers) will pull us through.
Thanks again for reading and we sincerely hope that you'll consider a donation to our GoFundMe.
