Hello, please be kind and take the time to read❤️
Kooper Roe Stevenson is our best friends little boy. Kooper was born on 6th April 2023 and completed our friend’s beautiful family.
In November 2024, Lowri and Shane (Koopers parents) noticed a small shadow in his eye when taking pictures of him with the flash on. Thankfully they took him straight to the GP and from there their worlds have been tipped upside down.
Kooper was diagnosed on Friday 13th December with a very rare form of cancer known as unilateral retinoblastoma. This type of cancer only affects around 60 children in the UK.
Kooper has a long road ahead of him with a combination of different treatments including chemotherapy and cryotherapy but with the hope that he will make a full recovery and keep his eye.
Both Lowri and Shane are hard working people. They met when they both worked within the British Army and when they found out they were pregnant with their first little boy Brody, decided it was time to leave the forces and settled in Wales.
Shane now works as a health and safety manager and Lowri is currently working a combination of two jobs alongside training to become a qualified midwife.
Sadly, due to where they live and Kooper’s treatment being with Birmingham children’s hospital, both Lowri and Shane have had to take unpaid leave from work and Lowri has had to put her dreams of being a midwife on hold.
Kooper will now be required to travel to Birmingham weekly to receive his treatment meaning that Lowri and Shane will continue to need to take time off work to care for him.
This page has been set up to firstly show awareness of the condition our beautiful Koops has but to also ask that you consider helping a family through a difficult time to ensure that even without work they all have a magical Christmas as a family without any financial strain.
