My name is Ashley. I am the father of 3 beautiful girls. I was asked about 2 months ago for a divorce, which led to extreme depression. I started seeing a therapist, and continued working on myself between sessions. Mentally I am feeling much healthier, however, my mental well being doesn't stop the wheels in motion, nor did I plan on something like that, and most of the money I had saved up, was spent on therapy, that honestly, saved my life...
The next few months will be even harder, I will be leaving my home of the last 5 years. It's going to bring about a lot more challenges that are difficult, and I'm having a hard time expressing myself, as this is my 3rd time re-writing this. I need help. I've found a house, for when I have my girls 50% of the time. Rent is 1 1/2 times the average mortgage payment, in my area... rentals aren't financially possible, with the added state that and I don't plan on leaving until my girls are grown up, if I ever leave. Buying a house, gives me a sense of stability and a home, that I don't feel a rental would give us, as well as financially I can't afford to pay double the average mortgage. I really just want to give them the same feeling of safe and secure, as they have in their home now.
I'm asking for help raising money, to assist with closing costs on a house and the purchase of new (technically used) appliances for said home. My girls mom and I have been civil and understanding with each other during this process, and in such, I refused to take anything from the house that would cause them any struggle. I'm leaving behind, much that I own, so their household stays feeling like a home.
I estimate closing costs between $3,500-$4,000. I estimate about $1,000 for appliances, in used condition. I estimate about $500 for moving expenses, and $500 for utility transfers/turn on. While waiting for our divorce to finalize, any money that I am able to save will go towards the appraisal, inspection and earnest money.
Currently, I'm still paying all the bills I've always paid at the house, which doesn't leave me much money to put back; which has been difficult, too.
I figure I have approximately 90 days or a little longer to raise some money, I'm still saving on my end, I just don't think 90 days will be enough to do it alone. I don't like asking for help and I know that I wouldn't be able to pay anyone back, though I would love the financial stability bi-weekly to see that I could, I just can't. I know $6,000 is a lot, I know that the state of the world makes it hard to worry about someone outside of your home, more so, right before the Holiday season. I hate that I'm going through this, but it is what it is. I just really could use some helping hands, anything will help. Thank you.
