Help a Father evacuate his children from Gaza

Donation protected
My name is Jomana and I recently had the privilege of meeting and befriending Mohammad Masri a 38 year old Palestinian Journalist who came to Melbourne Australia to cover the Womens FIFA cup. Shortly after his arrival the war on Gaza began leaving him unable to return to his homeland. Mohammed is a proud father to four precious children. His wife and children have been forced to evacuate their homes alongside 2 million other Gazans and are currently living close to the Rafah border in makeshift tents in deplorable conditions. It is the middle of winter and almost all aid to the country has now been cut off; leaving the people of Gaza that have survived the bombardment of the IOF to starve; entrapped in an open air prison unable to escape, as all the borders are closed.

Currently Mohammad's wife and 4 children have valid Australian visitor visas but are unable to travel to safety as the Australian government has denied them consular assistance. Mohammad is not an Australian citizen and is awaiting the very long process of being granted a humanitarian visa.

For the last 3 months we have made endless petitions to all the relevant ministers and our pleas for mercy have gone unheard. This family has been abandoned and left to die.

Each single day that passes their circumstances worsen. Each day that passes Mohammad waits with baited breath, as days and often an entire week will pass without any contact due to no phone or internet connections. Each time he makes contact he fears receiving the news that one of his children has been killed, or even worse his entire family.

Imagine the guilt that you would feel as a parent having been fortunate to escape the war but being so far from your family and unable to help them; whilst watching day after day the destruction of your beloved homeland. Each day consuming the images of children dying from bombing, snipers, the cold and starvation. When you are able to finally make contact with your children you breath knowing they are still alive. But then they weep while telling you how scared they are of dying and that they are hungry and cold. Imagine your child in this situation, I don't think there could be anything more painful

But you can help us to change this story. We have all felt helpless; anguish and despair as we watch this genocide day after day almost in real-time. We have wept bitterly because we desire to do something and make this madness stop. To date our leaders choose to allow tens of thousands and counting, of innocent civilians whose only crime is being Palestinian, to die.

Whilst it seems we can do nothing, this cry for help is your chance to give and to change the story for one entire Palestinian family.

The funds that we are seeking to raise will secure the fees needed to pay for their escape from Gaza. Their is no easy channel to leave Gaza as you must be given permission to leave by Israel after your name has been placed on a register by your respective government. The Australian government have refused to place their names on this list even though they hold Australian visas. It is a cruel dystopian situation, a family with a place to escape to but no way to actually escape.

We need your heartfelt help to secure the finances that will pay for this family's exit out of Gaza. This alone is $15,000 US. The rest of the funds will be used to purchase airfares from Egypt to Australia.

Once they arrive their is an entire community waiting with open arms to provide all the essentials they will need. So please help us to raise the funds needed urgently and help this family escape from Gaza; and be reunited with their husband and father. Together we can be a light in this darkness. Each moment that passes is critical so please give your best gift today, no matter how small, each small action by many will be the action that changes this families story.
