HELP A FIGHTER FIGHT THE FIGHT !!

Donation protected
Hello,

My name is Mona, and I'm reaching out to you today with a heartfelt request. I've initiated this fundraiser to support a dear friend and colleague, Mandy, who is bravely facing a challenging time. At a remarkably young age, Mandy has been diagnosed with cancer. She's determined to fight this with every ounce of her strength, but the journey ahead is daunting, especially as a mother to two young children.

What makes Mandy's situation more bearable is the incredible support system surrounding her, including a wonderfully supportive husband. They're united in this battle, but the road ahead is filled with both emotional and financial hurdles.

This is where our collective support can make a significant difference. Through this fundraiser, we aim to alleviate some of the financial pressures that Mandy and her family are facing, enabling them to focus on what's most important right now: emotional support, healing, and recovery.

Below, I'll share a message from Mandy, giving us a glimpse into her journey. Any assistance you can provide, whether through a donation or simply by sharing this fundraiser, will be immensely appreciated. Your generosity can ease their burden and affirm that they are not alone in this fight.

Thank you so much for your kindness and support.

Friends and family (buckle up),

I’m not even really sure how to start this post. I never thought in a million years I’d be sitting here trying to find the words…. I’ve done a lot of reflecting the past week and I -think- I’m ready to share. I’ll keep it short…

Thursday, October 19th I went to emerge for some pain, swelling, shortness of breath and weakness. An X-ray revealed a 9x9x7 mass in my chest.
Saturday, October 21st I was flown out to HSN in the night because the tumor swelled up and caused some difficulty breathing etc..
Since being here in Sudbury, we’ve done a lung biopsy, a bunch of scans and bloodwork. I was diagnosed with a “Large B Cell Lymphoma” - type of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

The C word.

It’s inoperable, so I’ll be starting a long journey of chemotherapy to start. I’ll probably lose all my hair. My first treatments will begin October 31 and November 1st.

I’ve been away for over a week now and I miss my family so so so so so much. It feels like a piece of my heart is missing. We are all doing ok. We are learning to cope. I still don’t really know how I feel. I don’t think I believe it yet.
Needless to say, I’ve been away and I’ll be away a little while longer but when I get home I’ll be tougher than ever.

WE GOT YOU MANDY !!! xoxoxo
