Help a gig worker get through the winter

THE BACKSTORY:
Hello. My name is Owen Wills, and I am seeking to raise money for my family's bills. I am an artist, podcaster and puppeteer. I was until recently also a transcriptionist who used the Rev.com platform to make ends meet. Unfortunately, on November 6th, Rev gave two days notice that rates would be changing; they promised rates would only be lowered by a third, but in practice it turned out that most jobs were worth less. In essence, for me this means my pay per hour went down from $6.75 to $4.50 - not enough to pay the bills when I was already putting in the maximum amount of time and energy I had available and just managing to get by.
We have some good prospects that should pan out at the beginning of next year, but need help with bills that are coming due right now.
ABOUT ME:
I am a veteran, and artist, and a non-binary transgender person. I am married to another transgender artist. We both have mental health problems which limit our ability to work outside the home. In addition to a flexible day job with limited hours, I am also in the process of applying for disability through the VA. While my claim is very likely to be successful, it is uncertain when my claim will finish being processed.
In addition to all this, I have had to move many times in the past decade due to rising rent costs. Each time, I have ended up further and further into rural areas. This has resulted in limited access to public transportation, as well as jobs that fit my needs and abilities. This was why Rev was such a perfect fit for me, and why it has been such a blow for the company to change its rates so suddenly.
GOAL:
I am seeking to raise $800 to pay bills through the end of December. This would cover the rest of what we need:
- Rent
- Utilities
- Internet
- Transportation
WHEN IS THE MONEY NEEDED?
We need half the money by the end of November, and the other half by the end of December. We are asking for the full $800 now, because campaigns can take awhile to get fully funded.
WHAT IF THE FUNDRAISER GOES OVER THE GOAL?
Any extra money will go towards future monthly bills, which will help ensure we have a smooth transition into our future plans.
