Help a Healing Heart - for Chrystal

Our mom, sister, daughter, and best friend are among the hardest working women we know. She lends a hand wherever needed and has the biggest heart around. Her smile is contagious, and her laugh will fill your soul. No one can imagine life without her.

On April 5th, Chrystal experienced a life-altering event. A single mom of six was in cardiac failure. Thinking she had just pulled a back muscle, she continued to work a ten-hour shift and attend her daughter's lacrosse game that Monday. She went home feeling weak and tired and went to bed. Only to wake at 2am feeling nauseous and in more pain in her back and neck. Chrystal drove herself to the hospital where she was admitted for more testing. Through the EKG and ultrasound the doctors found nothing. They were confused, Chrystal is young, she was alert and talkative, but her enzymes were trending. They decided to take a closer look through angioplasty. It was nothing short of a miracle when they found a blocked artery on the backside of her heart. She was having a heart attack. They completed the surgery with a stent. Even her cardiologist said, 'The blood rushed from my face after seeing the photos'. The stars were aligned that day.

Today, Chrystal is home and feeling a lot better, but is on a long road to recovery. After four days in the hospital, she will now spend the next few weeks in cardiac therapy. Without being able to work, we fear what the future brings in medical bills and life. The added stress from financial debt is what we are trying to avoid for Chrystal right now.
