Help a Homeless Queer, Disabled, Trans Person Keep Their Dog
Donation protected
CW: assault, attempted murder
My name is Amaranthe and I'm fundraising for one of my closest friends--more like a sibling--Sydney, who was recently violently kicked out of their mother's home. Sydney, a queer, trans, Disabled writer and call center employee, was forced to move in with their abusive mother when a neighbor made spurious complaints about Sydney's corgi Felix, and the HOA told Sydney to either move out or get rid of their dog. Felix has been with Sydney through depression, divorce, and being unjustly fired for being Disabled, and obviously Sydney refused to give him up. Sydney's mother had recently begun physically and financially abusing Sydney, and when Sydney refused to give their mother their bank statements, their mother struck them in the head (on the side with the shunt; Sydney has hydrocephalus) and told them to get out of her house. Sydney's father has taken Sydney's mother's side and has gaslit, manipulated, and threatened Sydney.
Sydney is currently living with Felix in their car and needs funds to board Felix during the day while Sydney works their day job at a call center. They are experiencing homelessness in part because they would rather be homeless than give up their beloved dog. Please help them keep their dog in their life and donate so Sydney can board Felix during the day for a few months while they get back on their feet.
The goal of $5,000 will allow Syd to board Felix for approximately four months with some wiggle room for GFM fees.
