Help a Huichol family make their Indigenous Arts

Hello my name is Patricia and I am raising money to provide the funds for the Lopez de la Cruz family to isolate and make their traditional arts. You can see these pieces on my website which are on display and available for purchase at https://www.pure-indigenous.org or on ETSY shop name Pureindigenous. After receiving a Messenger call from the head of the family while they were picking beans in 2020, I could see dozens of people surrounding them where they would be sleeping for the next period of time. I was concerned about Covid and the health of the family was paramount. I was able to provide the funds for three generations to isolate at their Rancho and work on the productions of the morral a traditional bag and the beadwork. Three generations of women and young girls produced a magnificent body of work.

Sales are slow and I am without the same source of funds for this year their health and safety are still at risk.

The funds will provide all the supplies needed to produce another large body of work. These morrals are rare and few women are making them because they require weeks of work producing the tiny cross-stitch that makes up the traditional patterns and motifs. Ideally I can find a place where they can be exhibited and information about the Huichol culture can be shared.
