Help a LGBTQ single parent and child

Hello,

My name is Gina Barnard (she/her); I am a writer, professor, and activist. This is my first GoFundMe campaign; I am raising money for my friend, Malik, a young person who was kicked out of his home for being nonbinary/queer. He is now raising his sister's child, Kevin, as they were both kicked out of the home, as well. Kevin has a skin condition, Psoriasis that has worsened for several months. The Aloe Vera plant they have in the garden only does so much. The creams bought over the counter doesn't help heal it as well as the prescribed creams from the doctor. It is so painful, Kevin's skin bleeds and he has trouble sleeping at night. He is now a toddler. Kevin is the same age as my own son, and I would do anything to help ease any discomfort. As a single parent myself, I have helped Malik and Kevin as much as I could for the past several months. But I am just one person.

A fellow activist in Sonoma County, Dmitra Smith, also helped fundraise for Malik and family in October of last year. I wanted to create a new GoFundMe as I have been helping send funds to Malik in the last several months.

One US dollar equals 5 dollars in local currency where Malik's family lives, so you can make a huge difference for them very easily. The funds will be used toward medical appointments and medicine for Kevin, rent and food, as well as seed money to start a local shop at his residence in his neighborhood in order to have some sustaining income. Social service programs and services are not easy to come by where they live, his country has been hit extremely hard by covid, and Malik and Kevin are recovering from Covid themselves. For his own security as a nonbinary Black person, I can't say exactly where he lives, though I have that information myself.

Hello my name is Malik, I'm a black nonbinary Muslim person based in South America and I'm here to ask for your help. About 5 years ago, I was kicked out of my family home for being who I am. Since that time I have been struggling a lot to survive, like with rent and food. Around 3 months ago my sisters moved to my house because my birth family doesn't accept them as well. My younger sister is a young mother and is pregnant of 1 month now. We don't have a job and this pandemic is making it very hard to us to find a job and we have been struggling to get money for the rent and food. We decided to make a gofundme with Gina's help to get some funds to help us with expenses. Anything is already very welcome and will help us a lot. Thank you so much for considering us.
