For my Mother:
Dalanda J. Thompson
—Growing up I saw my mother take care of so many others. She has taken care of her sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces, and even taking on an incredible task of adopting her twin nephews. She has given her time and love to so many people, charities, and surrounding communities in need.
—When my mother was growing up, she lived in some of the most impoverished neighborhoods and didn’t have much through her life and she faced a lot of hardships. In her adult life, she has overcome some serious health issues including a heart attack, overcoming breast cancer in 2015 and has been on a hopeful course of remission. As a few years have went by, it seemed that she had overcome the worst of it, but surely when it rains, it pours. At the end of 2022, my mother was demoted at her job, shortly after she was laid off from the company. I noticed some significant changes in my mother. In early 2023, my mother was laid off from her job and that is when depression came in like a whirlwind, and it has been one thing after the next.
—At the beginning of November 2023 my mother was not herself and she had become sick and it was getting worse each day. November 27th, I took my mother to the ER, where she was vastly admitted. The doctors stated that her breast cancer had come back and it has metastasized ALL over her body. Being that I am my mother’s only child, this has been very difficult and hard on me. I have exhausted all funds at this time.
The reason why I created a gofundme, is because my mother needs funding with bills that have overlapped, within the past year for Mortgage and several months with bills. These household bills are Electricity, Gas, water, Mortgage, internet, medical expenses, and general house maintenance. I also want to continue, taking care of Kash and Keon well-being.
—I am now turning to my closest family members, loved ones, community leaders, community activists, and friends for help.
—I am praying that it is placed in your heart to let the fruits of the Holy Spirit allow you to be a blessing in for-seeing a remarkable life for Ms. Dalanda J. Thompson.
