Help a Local Business Fight Discrimination

Hello, my name is Taisha. Winnie’s International Takeout is a black woman owned soul food restaurant owned by Twimonisha Mason. Most people know of the restaurant from her start of selling dinners in her home to opening a physical location in Amityville Village (Long Island, NY).
Through all the restaurants hard work and support from loyal customers they were able to secure a bigger location in Massapequa to be able to meet the demands of their ever growing customers. Winnies closed its Amityville location to focus on opening the Massapequa location. However, that is where all the troubles began.
Since being in the Massapequa location they have been unable to open due to being vandalized by local “thugs” on more than one occasion. They have already spent thousands doing repairs from the initial vandalism and now they have to do it again! All while paying rent to a business that has been unable to open since 2019.
Please help me get them the funding they need to repair all the damage caused by the vandalism, hire an attorney to fight Nassau County police department on the mishandling of the crimes against the store, and for them to keep their doors open throughout this process! Every dollar donated counts!
Below is an excerpt from Winnies personal page on what they have been dealing with;
“. For everyone wondering why we haven’t opened yet we have been dealing with a few set backs , #1. We have over $100k in damages done to our store #2. Even tho we had a 2 million dollar insurance policy they only covered $5k worth of damages due to a clause on page 87 that took them 2 months to find #3. The Nassau County Police ♀️ only charged the kids with Trespassing and not Vandalism so we wouldn’t be able to get restitution #4. They refused to give us the parents information so we couldn’t sue them either #5. We’re stuck with paying for everything out of our own pockets☹️
The crazy part of it all is that with over $100k worth of damages they still came back for more We have spent our Life Savings trying to open this location. We’ve been paying rent on this building since 2019. We Closed our first location to focus on this new one and have been hit with obstacle after obstacle. We are publicly reaching out for help asking all our supporters to send us any information on getting legit funding/ grants/ loans /or investors who are interested in becoming apart of the next big Franchise”
