Help a Mother in Need: Replace Their HVAC Unit

Hey all! So, I seem to have started this year off with a hard hitter. I’m currently in an ongoing and expensive divorce situation. Trying to keep things afloat has been rough, but I do what it takes to maintain a good and safe environment for my son and fur/scale babies. They are my life and drive!

Today, unfortunately, I was hit with some of the worst news when it comes to trying to maintain a house on 1 income. My HVAC unit is completely dead. It was a 2006 model, so it was close to 20 years old. They don’t make replacements for this model, but the compressor is what went out. They tried seeing if I could get approved for a loan, but I was declined even with a co-signer. They told me that units cost anywhere from $9k-25k, which is insane! I already live paycheck to paycheck while also being on disability, so I have no way to get financial assistance. As much as I try not to ask for help and just tough things out, this isn’t something I can feasibly obtain with my normal expenses.

I am lowering my head and asking you for help. I wouldn’t care if it was just me, but I can’t allow my babies to suffer in this coming heat and cold depending on how long it takes to gather the funds.
