Help a Mother Reclaim Custody of Her Son

After many years of extreme legal abuse, my son’s father got main custody of our son. He sleeps only 4 nights a month with me, I have almost no rights as a mother anymore (medical, educational, psych, dental) although I have been the only one taking adequate care of him and have to pay him child support even though the years of lawyer fees have caused me to almost go bankrupt (even thought I self-represented for many hearings) and he’s buying new cars and spent over $70,000 on lawyers in fall of 2024. We have no first right of refusal so when he leaves for a month, my son gets passed around between whoever he decides - his creepy friends my son feels weird around, his senile mother who celebrated my son losing his mom in front of him the day of, strangers he finds on babysitting websites I have no way of contacting. My son’s mental and emotional health is declining and when he refuses to go to his house, his father (and father’s mother) threaten him with legal consequences for me and less time with me than he has now. I have held off on starting to GoFundMe because in the past, I have spent money on travels. (Not anymore.) But I cannot defend myself on my own anymore, I need help with legal fees to get my baby back. It’s not a fair fight when one party has been drained financially, emotionally, mentally and the other party has - amongst other help (mom, of course) - my son’s trust fund that was meant for his college. My story is not unique. Thousands of women get their children ripped away from me because many (not all) judges in a broken family court system put more value on protecting the rights of abusive men rather than looking out for the best interest of the children. Even after I get my son back, I will continue spreading awareness and fighting for reform!! THIS MUST STOP.
