Victor’s Survival Fund

Hi. My name is Victor Emmanuel also known as VICWONDER. I am a 24 year old fashion and lifestyle digital creator and queer rights activist. I am openly gay. Some of my work includes spearheading social campaigns (along with other activists and queer bodies) such as the #EndHomophobiaInNigeria campaign in 2020, the #RepealSSMPA, which was birthed from my hunger strike protest at The National Assembly in 2021 and the physical protest at the state’s capital against the proposed cross dressers bill which also led to the #WithdrawCrossDressersBill campaign in 2022.
I create fashion and lifestyle digital content through my brand “VICWONDER” that push against barriers of gender and sexuality and share to an almost 40,000 online audience across different platforms.
I and my work have been featured in notable publications such as TIME, Zikoko, Huffington Post, Sahara Reporters, Pink News, etc.
I started this fund with the help of a friend abroad because as an openly gay man and vocal activist, it is hard for me to thrive in Nigeria, a homophobic country with violent laws and citizens. I do my best. I work hard, I freelance, but I find myself overwhelmed with bills almost all the time.
This fund helps me manage crisis, pay huge bills (like my rent & scheduled hemorrhoids surgery) and sustain myself while I try to build a notable brand as a lifestyle influencer and queer educator.
I ask that you please consider donating to keep me afloat. Thank you.
