Help a Palestinian student pay tuition
Donation protected
Hi! I created this campaign to help a very hardworking and smart Palestinian friend who is in their second year at a state university in Massachusetts and is having a hard time securing payments for tuition. They came straight from Palestine and have no means of support in the states which is why they are unable to take out a loan. They have a remaining of $8,000 to cover the rest of fall tuition, and $16,000 to cover spring tuition.
So far, they have been able to maintain a 3.80 gpa, excelling in all of their classes as a computer science major. Besides academics, they have been working full time to support themselves and their family who are living in Palestine. Help in any amount is really appreciated.
** they have until January 15 to pay and register for classes, else they would be deported.
Update:
Hello! I'm activating this again as my friend has used all the money from the fundraiser to pay tuition and work less, which has led them to fall behind on finances. With the semester ending, they went back to working 60+ hours/week, and 15 hours/ week in their in-campus job, which barely gives them any time to study, destress, go out with friends, or even secure an internship. Currently, all of their income goes towards paying off debt they had to accumulate when they stopped working to focus on their studies, which is why they need our help.
Currently, they aim to take summer courses, which will be $6,000 for the summer. taking summer courses will help them graduate after their junior year making finances a lot easier for them. They also have not registered for fall classes yet, and they need $18,000 to do so, resulting in a total amount of $24,000 (without gofundme fees). With the previous fundraiser, this should equal to $48,000.
While I understand this is a lot, I believe in the power of our community to help disadvantaged people excel and succeed, as I believe they will help people to their best ability in the future. Please please share and donate. This student is one of the brightest people I've ever met.
