help a queer couple stay safe and together

we are a young queer disabled couple living in colorado. pictured above is our cat, unshi. i (shane) have been unemployed for almost two months after losing my job due to my former job protecting a manager who is queerphobic, misogynist and engages in sexual harassment in the workplace. my fiancé has been unable to find work for over a year after we both quit a different job for targeting us due to our visibly being queer. we've been applying to literally any job we can find, and while i've gotten at least 6 or 7 interviews since november 2024, they've gotten 2 since 2023. no advancements past the interview stage have been made for either of us, and a handful of mine have even been to places that either weren't hiring or with management who refuse to show up to scheduled interviews.

while i'm able-bodied, part of why i was let go involved worsening anxiety, PTSD & endometriosis symptoms that continue to impact my daily life. my partner, however, is physically disabled, and has been rejected from jobs based on them needing their cane or being a person of color. i've been advertising digital art commissions online, but due to a psychotic episode i had a few years back, i lost my entire audience & the majority of my friends, so i'm often the only one sharing ads. i've secured one commission slot since my last big push in december, but work is very hard to come by.

other opportunities i have are a job offering to help me attain a real estate license & IT training supported by my previous workplace, but both require time to commit and neither pay out at all while i'm doing said training.

all money received will go towards helping us get through the next two months of rent plus groceries. if we don't make our goal we seriously risk having to move back in with unsupportive family & in separate states from each other, both of which are extremely unsafe for queer people (as for myself, i'd be moving back in with unsupportive & abusive family in texas, which has joined florida in being one of the worst possible states to live in as a transgender person.) please consider helping us out.
