Help a Queer Interracial Family Leave Texas

Hey there!

We're Petra and Anna-Marie, a lesbian couple currently living in Texas with our two kids. Anna-Marie is a special education teacher and Petra is a program manager working with Government and Non-Profits.

Texas has become untenable to live, with its current aim of restricting LGBTQ+ rights (especially trans rights) and its efforts to curb and harm education and teachers - especially teachers of color.

We already have plans to leave the state, including new jobs lined up in Delaware and a lease signed. Due to unforeseen circumstances outside of our control, we haven't been able to secure the funds necessary to support our actual leaving and move-in costs (including the first month's rent). This fundraiser was never something we envisioned having to do - we've pursued local and community support options wherever they were available, and we've taken on odd-jobs outside of our career paths, and still find ourselves unable to come up with the total move-in costs to start our lease on 8/19.

Your donations will go to:

First-month's rent + pet fees ($2,300)

Fuel + Hotel for the drive from Texas to Delaware ($500)

Credit/Debit Card Fees (Unknown cost, but it's why there's a little extra in the fundraiser)
