Help a Single Mom Heal from Spinal Fracture

Donation protected
Hi Friends!
In September, I suffered a serious back injury that completely changed my life. I was performing in the comedy shows at Bumbershoot (music and art festival), and between sets, I decided to partake in a double dutch demo. On my second turn, I asked/told everyone to gather ‘round and watch me. As I jumped into the ropes, my leg locked up, and I fell and couldn’t get up. I was taken by ambulance to the ER, where they ran tests and imaging. I suffered a spinal fracture that requires a back brace and long-term recovery. I’ve had two spine procedures to stabilize my spine, and since then, it has been doctor’s visits, procedures, pain meds, and rest.

As a single mother of two young children, I have always worked hard to provide for my family, but this injury has left me unable to work and often in pain. My kids are doing their best to understand, but it’s hard when they see me in pain or when I can’t do the things I used to. The mounting medical expenses, along with everyday living costs, have created an overwhelming financial burden.
Despite these challenges, I am doing everything I can to heal and take care of my children, but the financial strain is making this journey even more difficult. I have always been someone who gives—whether through my work in comedy, my community, or as a loving mother—but now, I find myself in need of support.
Any contribution—whether a donation, a share, or words of encouragement—would make my situation a little lighter. Every little bit helps my family stay afloat while I focus on my recovery and on being there for my children.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer. Your kindness reminds me that even in the hardest times, we are never alone. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of my journey to healing.

There is also a comedy benefit and raffle for my family on March 19, at 8 pm at the Clock-Out lounge in Seattle—expect a hilarious night for a good cause. The Dewa Comedy Benefit show
