Help a Single Mom & Teen after a Devastating House Fire
Donation protected
On November 26th around 5:20pm, tragedy struck a single mom and her 13-year-old daughter when a devastating house fire left them without a home and took two of their beloved cats. Their house is now uninhabitable, and they’ve lost nearly everything, including cherished memories and the comfort of their furry companions.
With no insurance and limited resources, they’re facing an uphill battle to rebuild their lives. Emergency services are offering temporary assistance for 72 hours, but after that, they’ll need our help to find stability and start over.
Global News covered their story in the news and here is the link to that video. Their story starts at the 3:13 mark. https://globalnews.ca/video/10892072/global-okanagan-news-at-530-p-m-nov-27-2024/
This mom and daughter are not just our neighbors—they're part of our community. My 12-year-old daughter is best friends with their daughter, and seeing them go through this heartbreaking ordeal has moved us deeply.
Here’s how your donation will help:
Temporary Housing: Covering the cost of a hotel or securing a rental deposit and first month’s rent.
Essential Needs: Clothing, toiletries, groceries, and school supplies for the daughter.
Pet Care: Food and supplies for their surviving cat.
Rebuilding Their Lives: Replacing furniture, household items, and other necessities as they start anew.
Every dollar makes a difference. Whether you can give $10 or $100, your support will help provide them with the comfort, stability, and hope they desperately need right now.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with your friends, family, or community. Together, we can help this family get back on their feet and remind them they are not alone.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
