Help a Survivor Access Justice
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ellie Wilson and in June this year, my rapist was found guilty of his crimes against me and sent to prison. Unfortunately, this wasn't the end of my justice journey. During the trial, his defence lawyer left me re-traumatised and feeling like I'd been abused all over again. He suggested I was responsible for what happened to me and may even have violated the law in his conduct. Even during sentencing, when guilt was already determined, he goaded and insulted me. I don't want other vulnerable victims to go through this, and I think this man ought to be held to account.
Unfortunately, I need to access a transcript of the trial, which could cost £3,000 to corroborate my claim. Having access to the transcript could also be beneficial for me in understanding what happened in court better, as well as building the base of my complaint against the lawyer in question. Justice shouldn't only be for those who can afford it, but unfortunately, right now that's the way the system operates.
