Help Lara Replace Her Dental Bridge

Hi friends and family,

I really hate to create this GoFundMe, but I have found myself in an unexpected and emergent medical situation. If you know me, you know I almost NEVER ask for help from my friends or extended family, but I am at a place where I don’t know another way.

The TLDR – I need my bridge replaced, and the dental estimate is between $7,000-12,000 dollars depending on what needs to be done. I am choosing the way that is most affordable, but even that, when all is said and done, will be well over $7,000 and potentially more.

If any of my friends can spare even $5-10 a piece, it could help offset this cost for me and make it possible to get the work done that needs to be done.

Most of you know that I was born with a cleft palate and cleft lip. I’ve had amazing surgeons and doctors who have helped me and with incredible success, but this is apparently a lifelong issue that seems to occasionally rear its ugly head. Due to the cleft lip, I was missing bone in my upper jaw and as a result, I have one tooth that was just never there. I had a bone marrow transplant from my hip when I was in middle school, so there is bone there now, but I have had a bridge for as long as I can remember. The one I currently have is now 20 years old, and this week it began to fail, so I now need to replace the bridge. The least amount it will cost for the bridge is $7,000), (which is 2 crowns plus the missing tooth, build up for the crowns, and a new night guard since my current one won’t fit any more). I will also need potentially more work on the bottom due to my bite being off (work on two bottom teeth or braces) and no idea how much that will cost me.

I just moved in June and changed positions at work, so I had a month with zero income this summer. So as you can imagine, I’m just not in a place to pay for $7,000 worth of dental work right now. I don’t even know anyone who could. Again, it is very difficult for me to do this, but I feel like I have no other choice.
