Help a Teen with an Alfa Dream

Hi, my name is Ant Metz and I am fundraising for my 1979 Alfa Romeo Spider. I am 16 and recently bought her as my first car off Craigslist. Me and my dad have been working on her quite a bit, and seeing Jim Cestarollo (Alfaman) in Novato, who has been immensely helpful. Ever since I was little I always wanted a classic convertible, and I am thrilled to be living my dream. I worked double shifts as a swim instructor at my local pool all summer in order to buy this car, and am looking to turn her into a daily driver. At the moment she drives well, and me and my dad are going to get her smogged and road-legal in the next few months. My dad has been teaching me how to drive a stick shift for when she is finally smogged and legal. I am asking for donations to help me with suspension, fuel injection system, cosmetics, weatherproofing, safety upgrades, and much more. I don’t have the funds at the moment to get this car safe or legal, and it would be a dream come true if my worries could be put to rest. I am so excited to be able to pull up to school each morning in this gorgeous car. It always makes me smile when I see a classic car on the roads today and I want to bring that feeling to others when I'm driving, especially if I have my dog Ivan along with me. Hopefully, with the help of the Alfa community, I can restore this car to its former glory!
