Help a Trans Family Leave Florida

Hello! My name is Arlo Dennis. You may have seen one of my many interviews about gender creative parenting online. I am a proud disabled and transgender parent, activist and educator in the Central Florida area.

For the last six years I have lead classes and given speeches to thousands on topics of communication, family, and identity. I have been active in fighting for social justice. I attend rallies protests, and meetings to create positive change in Florida. I have felt believed in staying in the South

Current legislation in Florida that take effect this Summer have made it precarious to be either a transgender person or a parent to trans youth in Florida. They are redefining heathcare as abuse of children. They are taking away access to hormone therapy for adults, and even restricting the existence of gender neutral restrooms,

My family has 4 adults and 2 children who are moving. All of us are transgender, nonbinary, or gender nonconforming. Being both a parent to a trans child and trans myself means that I do not feel safe. My family has made the difficult decision to leave our home and relocate to New England.

With amazing support my family has already accomplished the hardest step and aquired a house in our new state! We are currently fundraising for the first month's rent, last month's rent and the deposit (which is equal to another month of rent.)

We are also fund raising for the expenses of relocating our belongings and the travel for our family. We anticipate needing a 26 foot van and taking the train to relocate out two cars. The amount we are asking for is based on immoral restrict and phone consultations
