Help a trans woman escape the U.S.

Hey all, Julia here. I’m writing this on behalf of Allegra, a close friend of mine from TCNJ and a recently-out trans woman. As we all know from recent Project 2025-related events, this administration is not going to be kind to trans people, particularly trans women.

Because Allegra is an educator and is planning to work with children with special needs, her career opportunities and safety are at risk. Because she is extremely cool, Allegra is working on a TFL certificate to teach English abroad in Madrid, which will give her an opportunity to obtain a work visa and work towards citizenship.

A bit about Allegra herself: She is 22 years old, a huge fan of Cobra Kai and Xenoblade Chronicles, and an absolute ray of sunshine. She has supported me and many others through their darkest hours. Unfortunately, her family have not been supportive in her transition journey, and she cannot rely on them for assistance. She is working to save money but is paid minimum wage, and moving will put an additional financial strain on her.

Allegra has been incredibly brave in taking important steps to ensure her own safety. But she faces an uphill battle in moving to a new country and establishing her life there for the long term. It’s time that we give back to Allegra and make sure she can live the life she deserves. She should not have to be brave on her own—she needs people she can rely on.

The funds will be collected by yours truly, and sent to Allegra directly. The money will cover housing, HRT, and paperwork.
