Help a Trans Woman Have Safe Housing and a Working Car
Donation protected
Hi, all.
I'm Bee, I'm a trans woman living in St. Louis. In July, my parked car was hit while parked on the street in front of my house. The person who hit my car did not have insurance, and I have not been able to pursue reimbursement for the hit and run. After the accident, I could not afford to repair my car, and the damage did not seem too bad, so I continued to drive it sparingly until I could take it to an autoshop. Last week after taking it to the shop, I found out that there was a lot of internal damage to the car that had been made even worse by driving it after the accident. This has caused a lot of stress, and being without a car means that I would be unable to get around or prepare to move. All of my money has been going to repairing the car, and not registering it–I’m behind on registration, and late fees are piling up as I try to have a working car.
As September approaches, I need to be able to move all of my belongings to a new apartment–I have to pay rent, groceries, and other expenses, getting my car repaired is a huge burden on my life, but a huge necessity. Moving and repairing my car within the same few weeks is extremely stressful and expensive. I’m asking for help from anyone who can–even $5 will push me towards my goal of fixing my car. If you have the time to share this fundraiser with folks, I would greatly appreciate it, as sharing is helping too. :)
My goal is $5,000 to repair my car and have it registered. About $2,000 of that will be used to cover registration, the rest will cover what I need to pay out of pocket for my car's repair. Anything surplus will be redistributed to aid for Palestinians.
