Help a Trans Woman of Color in a Transitional Time
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Alex and I am looking for help during some financial struggles. I have been looking for work for a while now, since my husband had top surgery, and was hoping to find a job to offset his loss of income during the recovery period and to resource us better afterward as the costs of living continue to rise, but I have been having a difficult time trying to find safe work as a Covid-cautious trans woman of color. The goal I'm trying to meet would help me catch up on bills and debt that have built up while I’ve been looking for work, and would help me not have to worry about basic survival needs being met while I continue to look for the right opportunity.
For those of you still here, thank you for reading! I am a second-generation native Mexican who was raised in Central California and grew up working on farms and in fields. I learned firsthand from a young age the significance of community in society that’s set up to abandon and disregard our most marginalized members. This belief has inspired me to always be an active member of my community. I am a member of my local mask bloc, delivering free masks to anyone in need. I also donate to our local community fridges and food banks whenever I have the opportunity and means to do so. It’s deeply important to me to be able to provide support to the people around me, and I am hopeful that now, I can lean on my community for support during this transitional time.
