Help a Ukrainian couple sleeping on a floor

Hi, my name is Corinne and I hosted in Montreal, Qc a wonderful couple, Anastasiia (28) and Maksym (32) for 3 months before they moved to Vancouver Island, BC.

Whilst they were with me they had 2 jobs, worked 6-7 days a week, are industrious and honest as the day is long.

I caught Covid while they were here, as a nurse I immediately self-isolated and Anastasiia fed me and took care of me better than any nurse could have. I celebrated my birthday on September 8th in isolation and woke up to my house festooned in balloons!! They got up in the middle of the night and decorated the whole house and garden in celebration and to lift my spirits. This shows such a generosity of heart and spirit ❤️❤️❤️

Sadly their current host has drinking issues and they are forced to move out prematurely. With the little money that they have been able to save, as of January 01 2023 they will be renting a 1 bedroom apartment in Langford and will need to find new employment.

They only own their clothes on their backs and will need to sleep on their jackets since they don’t even own a blanket.

All monies collected will be to help them get furniture, appliances, cookware, essentials for a home in Langford, Vancouver Island, BC.

I implore you to please help Anastasiia and Maksym who have already endured so much, travelling on foot and by bus from war torn Kherson - where their families still strive to survive- to Canada to start anew.

They have had a hard start as their first employer here in Montreal whom they worked with for 6 weeks defrauded them giving them NSF paycheques and we are now pursuing him through the courts with CNESST.

Help me help them.
