*UPDATE* 04/11/2022 Thank you for your generous donations. Because of your donations, mother Valentyna was able to visit an eye doctor and he prescribed antibiotics for her eye. This was because of an infection the doctor discovered. We are relieved the doctor was able to discover this in the early stages.
Hi, my name is Anna Hlukhotareno. This is my first time using Gofundme.
Hi, my name is Anna Hlukhotareno. This is my first time using Gofundme.
I know you have been following the news lately about the war in Ukraine, and this is your chance to support a Ukrainian family: Oleksii Hlukhotarenko (my father), Valentyna Kotenko (my mother), Dmytro Pustenko (my disabled cousin) and Liudmila Synytsia (my mother's friend of 20 years).
This is a tragic event that displaced many families from their homes. My parents are currently one of those families who had to relocate to survive. Please help my parents temporarily settle in Romania until they safely return to their home in Kyiv, Ukraine.
I was born in Ukraine and lived there all my life. My parents and I lived in the Kyiv region.
When the war began, my parents were in Yuzhny, a city near Odessa, caring for my disabled cousin. For 19 days, they were living in fear of attacks. Due to air raids, they spent nights in a cold, damp underground shelter. They were hoping for a victory so they would not continue to live this way.
Due to no shipments between the larger cities and smaller cities/villages, they could not buy the necessary pills/groceries. Almost no food was brought in stores, people bought up medicines in pharmacies, and it was impossible to deliver them to the city.
Every day I cried and begged them to look for an opportunity to leave Ukraine. Their official evacuation date was scheduled for March 14th. My parents escaped Ukraine with my mother’s best friend of 20 years, Ludmila, and my mother’s disabled nephew. On their way to the border, they were afraid the bus they were transported in would be attacked by the Russian military.
My parents are currently in Romania, but they do not have foreign passports and are not able to fly internationally. They must remain in Romania because of this. Also, my parents are not able to access their retirement funds. This money is only available in Ukraine via the courier “Ukrposhta”.
I am attaching their Ukrainian passports, my brother's disability document, and the Romanian border crossing documents.
When I receive the funds, I will transfer them to my family via one of the Romanian volunteers helping them.
Please feel free to contact me directly.
