Help a Ukrainian student continue her education in the UK
Donation protected
My name is Sofiia, I am 19 years old and I am from Ukraine. I am in urgent need to find the funds for an Immigration Lawyer, in order to apply for Humanitarian Protection in the UK and pursue my dream of studying Fine Art at a university.
My education began to suffer in 2014, after my home region, Donetsk, suffered its first invasion. In 2017, I was lucky to be chosen to come study in the UK for one year through a charity. I attended Foremarke Hall School in the UK for the Academic Year 2018 - 2019, where I was given an opportunity to continue my studies for another year. At the end of the Academic Year 2020, the charity could no longer support me, however, my UK guardians offered to continue, and we were able to find a full scholarship at Abbotsholme School. Thanks to the generosity of the charity and the school, as well as the kindness of my guardians, I was able to continue studying and remain in the UK.
I am about to take my A levels in Art, History & Spanish. I am predicted A*BB grades. I have been offered a place on a Fine Arts Degree from 4 Universities- one unconditional.
The problem regarding my studies has recently been exacerbated by the fact that the only way I am able to study in the UK is at a university. This has put me in a difficult situation, as both my family and my guardians can not afford to pay university fees. Most of my family is based in a war zone, my mother and both of my sisters have fled Ukraine and my father is in hiding.
For the past 7 years the UK has become my home. Having fled Ukraine at the start of the first invasion, I was lucky to have been able to have the opportunity to an education that, I believe, every young person deserves. I hope you can help me in any way. Thank you for your time.
