Hello there, my name is Anthony Diaz Ferrer and I’m raising funds to pay for the paperwork required for me to become a U.S. Navy nuclear mechanic. I recently graduated from Jensen Beach High School and enlisted in the Navy because I found out that my ASVAB score met the requirements for a job in the nuclear department. I saw this as a great opportunity to create stable ground for an adult life while serving my country in the process. I went through MEPS and cleared my medical and background investigation. Unfortunately, since I am a citizen of two countries, the second being the not very friendly Venezuela, I must renounce my other citizenship. Normally this wouldn’t pose a problem and it would be done at a local embassy, but all the Venezuelan embassies in the US closed down in 2019. My Navy recruiters then resorted to getting a waiver for it which was unfortunately denied. My last option is to go the long way and get a proxy lawyer in Venezuela to submit the paperwork for me. Unfortunately, since Venezuela is super corrupt and no one ever renounces their citizenship, the people that do it take advantage of that and charge an absurd amount. The total that their charging me is $3800, I already have $1000 saved up but I need to get the rest quickly before the deadline in November. I would appreciate any help you or anyone you know can give, thank you so much for your time!
