Help a wonderful family through tragic cancer
Donation protected
I met Rihab 3 years ago through some volunteering I was doing in Portland with the refugee community. You know how when you meet someone and you can feel their essence. That was how it was with Rihab, I immediately knew this woman was special. She had a softness, a tenderness, along with a fierceness and determination in making life better for her family. I adored her a laugh and commitment to education.
Rihab is a refugee from Africa. She has had a challenging life, to say the least. Moving to a new country, not knowing anyone, not speaking the language... the challenges many refugees endure after leaving their country out of desperation.
At this moment her husband has terminal liver cancer. He has been discharged from the hospital and palliative care is the next course of action. Rihab has 4 kids, 1 of which is highly autistic and needs full time attention. She had been working as a cleaner. I am raising money for them to get through this period.
Having a community, funds in the bank, a family to fall on.....this is what many of us, thankfully, rely on when such tragedies hit. She unfortunately doesn't have an abundance of those things. This is when we can step in and help an angelic human during this devastating time.
The money will be used to help pay for health care, rent and food. Please donate what you can to help this kind, sweet family.
