Help a black woman pursue career as an artist

I am Jewel, a young black woman from Baltimore, Maryland. I have been creating and involved with art since i was a child, fortunate enough to have created literary, visual, mixed media and performing art. I am currently raising money to afford rent and housing for my own space where I can continue to create art as an independent freelancer full time. I will also be using the money I raise to afford art supplies as I continue to explore different mediums.

Creating this gofundme was my big attempt at taking a chance on myself and proclaiming my future as an independent artist. I truly believe in myself as an individual and know that whatever medium I pursue I will passionately and unashamedly express myself while inspiring others to do the same. (This was also my attempt at saying f-u to corporate america, as I have spent far too much time working for others and am finally going to follow my dreams and work for myself!!)
