Help a young family deal with life threatening illness

My name is Donna. I'm fundraising for my grandson and his family. January 2025 David was diagnosed with brain cancer. David is 29 years old with a wife and 2 lovely preschool children. The tumor was removed in Edmonton, Alberta. The best treatment for David is proton beam therapy, a form of very precise radiation that targets tumor cells but avoids damaging healthy brain cells. Unfortunately this treatment is not available anywhere in Canada. He has had to spend two months in Jacksonville, Florida receiving proton beam therapy. The prognosis for David's cure is very optimistic. While the actual treatment is covered by Alberta Health Services, there are numerous additional expenses. Thus far the family has covered air fare, housing, meals, car rental and other expenses to the tune of thousands of dollars. Now they have learned that employment insurance will not pay out while he is in the United States. That means in addition to the expenses while in Florida, his family also has to cover mortgage payments and other expenses for his home in Alberta. David will require additional chemo therapy treatments when he returns to Alberta. He lives in rural Alberta, so he cannot live at home during this time. He will incur additional living expenses in order to receive this treatment in Edmonton. Please help us help David and his family.
