Help a Young Family After the Eaton Wildfire Took Everything

Donation protected

My name is Marisa. My boyfriend, Greg, and I were both raised in Altadena, CA. We are reaching out to you during a time of unimaginable loss and devastation. The Eaton Wildfire in Altadena, CA took everything from us and has now left us in a place of uncertainty for the future while our family makes plans to rebuild. We applied for financial assistance through FEMA but we do not qualify because we are not the homeowners.

For the past two years my boyfriend and I have been living on my parent’s compound in the back house that my father completely remodeled for us. This house provided us and our pets with a stable and affordable place to live while we build our family. In November of 2024 we had a baby boy and we made sure to create the perfect arrangements for our newborn in the space we had available. Unfortunately, a couple months after our baby was born the Eaton Wildfire came through and completely burned down everything on the property. We lost both houses on the property, all of our belongings, everything we received from our baby shower, and our sense of security in our plans for the future.

Raising a newborn as first-time parents is already a challenge and now we have the unnecessary stress of having to restart our lives from scratch and try to secure a new place to live. We really need a place that allows us to stay relatively close to our family in a safe neighborhood that’s affordable and also allows us to keep our pets. Reality is finally setting in that we do not have a permanent living situation anymore. We planned out our future and how we would raise our children but now we don’t even know what the next 6 months will look like.

Preparing for a baby is costly, we have lost everything and need help getting back on our feet. We will use these funds directly to help us with the following:
1. Secure housing
2. Essentials for our newborn baby
3. Household supplies
4. Debt relief/Reestablishing our Savings
5. Clothing
6. Additional basic necessities we need to begin rebuilding our lives

No amount is too small, and every little bit helps.

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your network to help spread the word. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

God Bless..
