Help a Young Farmer and Save a Historic Barn
Donation protected
Help my granddaughter Virginia save a historic barn in Otsego County, NY.
My granddaughter, Virginia, grew up with her now-deceased grandfather and me on our farm and she has developed a passion for agriculture. She is now studying sustainable agriculture at the State University of New York at Cobleskill and will someday inherit the farm and its historic buildings. A good barn is critical for farming, and our barn, built in the 1850s, desperately needs a new roof. The frame of the barn is solid, and to maintain the whole building the roof must be replaced. Your donation will not only help Virginia start her farming career with a solid barn but also help to keep a traditional farming community alive.
The property has always been a family run farm, producing milk and hops before being purchased by us in 1982. We raised our own meat and crops while selling replacement dairy heifers and hay until Virginia's grandfather passed. Virginia has dreamed for years about reviatalizing the farm and is now getting the education to do so.
Donate to support a young farmer and a piece of agricultural history!
