Help a Young Man From Ukraine Play Hockey in LA
Tax deductible
The California Heat would like to ask for your help in giving a young man the ability, through hockey, to have some normalcy in his life here in Los Angeles after having to flee his home in Ukraine.
A few short months ago, Vova had safety, a home, a hockey team, dreams, and hopes. Then one day, his parents drove him from Kyiv as far as they could, from one village to the next, fleeing from the horrors of the encroaching war. His mother continued on with him out of the country, eventually making their way to Los Angeles and safety. His father stayed behind to fight in the war.
Playing hockey is everything for him. It is a place of release, where he can feel normal. He joined one of our California Heat coaches for a lesson and was welcomed with open arms. He has continued to train with our coaches throughout the Spring, developing his skills on the ice. Recently, he participated in tryouts and was offered a spot on our 16AA team for the 2022-2023 season. All he wants to do is continue playing hockey for a travel team in the upcoming season.
This is where your kindness and contributions will help the most. Your donations will help pay for the uniform kit, gear, season dues, league fees, and travel costs.
We know that the HOCKEY FAMILY throughout the world is genuinely remarkable. Let's unite to help this young man enjoy the game we all love. Help him join our hockey family for the new season
