Update:
My husband and best friend lost his fight to this horrible illness of liver cancer May 23rd at 9:18pm. Our family appreciates all your kindness and support you have shown us.
Aaron unexpectedly lost his life insurance in December due to some misunderstanding and communication errors. I will keep this open fund open for those that would still like to help our family in this time of hardship. Those that want to help but not use GoFundMe I can send give our mailing address.
Thank you,
Tonya Alexander.
Story prepared by Tonya, my daughter-in-law, regarding my son, Aaron.
This past September my husband and I were delivered gut wrenching news, my loving husband was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. This has turned our lives upside down. He has been sick since July and off work since the last part of August. This all started with a cough in June.
I feel very fortunate that we have a caring and compassionate family dr, he suggested we get into Mayo for further testing. One thing our family dr said is that since my husband is 42, he so young and has a strong will to fight this. And so we did! I took it upon my own hands to get an appointment set up. We have started SSDI and also trying to get approval with his insurance disability as well. But every thing takes time and forms filled by the doctors.
This is hard for me, really all of us. I feel ashamed and embarrassed that we need to ask for help. It’s so easy to ask for prayers and well wishes, but what is hard is to admit that I need financial help. Not only for us but we also need to think of our 10 year old son. I know our journey has just begun and we have a long ways to go so any help will be appreciated. Thankfully Mayo Clinic is 2.5 hours from us but it still adds up and the bills are starting to rise. With him off work and I am only working part-time to insure he gets to all his appointments, its been difficult to make ends meet.
So I'm asking at this vulnerable time in our life that we rally behind my husband as he takes on this fight. We are grateful for any amount given, every penny and every prayer counts. If you can not give financially please consider sharing our story with others. Thank you for reading our story and any help that is given, we thank you.
