Help Aaron Jackson's Son Thrive After Loss
Donation protected
One year ago this August, Aaron Jackson passed away. To some, his death was just another fentanyl poisoning drug overdose to add to the growing number of such losses. But to his family and friends, his death means so much more than mounting statistics. Instead, there are no more of his dimpled smiles. No more bantering about baseball or carpentry or trucks or working out. No more family pics or holiday meals or even quick phone calls just to check in. His parents and sister grieve the loss of what might have been. His son, now five and starting kindergarten, knows his dad is in heaven with Jesus but misses him all the same. In this hard first year, we've been learning what it means to grieve with hope. We feel the pain of loss but, at the same time, we cling to the presence of God's peace and comfort. And we face life one day at a time.

I moved to New Orleans 31 years ago, 8-13-93, a scared and broke single mom of a two year old boy. We didn’t know anyone here.
The Jackson family opened their home and their hearts to us, allowing Nick to come play with Sarah and Aaron as Judi and Allen ministered to me and many other professors and students in many, many ways. The depth of their impact can’t truly be known on this side of heaven.
Aaron’s son will need a lifetime of support in many ways.
I hope that you will consider giving with the most tangible, practical gift in addition to your prayers for the Jackson family as they continue to grieve and process a life without Aaron while aiding in the care for his beautiful son.
“Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
