Help Aaron & Jess Pay for Boo's Emergency Medical Costs

Hey everyone. My name is Aaron Mook, and I write to you humbly on one of the worst days of my life.

One of our two cats, Boo, had a urinary blockage removed about a month ago. This was an unexpected emergency procedure that cost us over $2,500, paid with savings. Today, after spending the morning with my mother in the ER following a severe dog attack (unrelated - when it rains, it pours), we rushed Boo back to the vet to discover yet another urinary blockage. (He was throwing up and spending time in the litter box without going.)

The estimate for unblocking, which is being done this afternoon, is once again hovering around $3,500. We will once again be using savings for it, but this is ultimately unsustainable. There is a procedure that can be done to narrow the distance between his bladder and where he pees, but that procedure is estimated to be about $4,000 and would likely have to be put on a credit card.

If you know me, you know I will go broke before I "say goodbye" to this cat (as one vet suggested), and you also know Jess and I never to ask for help unless we really need it. Therefore, I'm cashing in all my chips; I know times are tough and money is tight, but if you happen to have anything extra that you can spare -- if you ever owed me anything, or if I ever I did you some kind of favor -- please consider donating, or at the very least sharing this campaign to help us take care of my best friend. It has been one of the worst days of my life and I don't even have my guy to comfort me tonight after all the dust settles.

EDIT: Our fundraising goal is in flux and consistently being reassessed based on what Boo needs in the moment. For example, we got $1,000 back from the Metropolitan Vet Hospital in Akron, so we adjusted our goal accordingly. Now that he had another emergency appointment to re-open his urethra, we have added more to our goal to cover that cost.
