Help Aaron pay Herman's final hospital bills

We said goodbye to our beloved Herman on Monday, January 14. As many of you well know, he was the warmest, gentlest of dogs, and we already miss him dearly.
What started out as a very normal day recently ended with Herman suddenly being unable to walk or even stand up. His back legs had, without warning, gone totally limp. Our vet sent us to an animal ER, and after several scans, an MRI revealed four herniated discs in his lower spine that were affecting his spinal cord. Two of the discs were inoperable, so Aaron decided to forgo surgery. Considering Herman’s permanent loss of mobility and what must have been constant excruciating pain, it became clear that the kindest thing to do was let him go. While our spirits are low and our home feels empty, we're trying to take comfort in the end of his suffering.
Between hefty hospital bills, long Lyft rides to get Herman to and from the animal ER, and an in-home euthanasia service that enabled Herman to pass in the peace and comfort of our home, Aaron has accrued a debt of several thousand dollars. As a full-time PhD student, he is not at all in a position to foot this sudden bill. I'm reaching out to ask for your help in relieving him of some of this financial weight in what is already a heavy moment. Literally every dollar will be helpful.
Thank you hugely,
Kris
