Help Aaron Recover From Heart Surgery

Dear friends and family,

On July 24th, our beloved Aaron was admitted to the ICU. On June 28th, he came down with what he thought was a flu. Being that this was only a few days before tour he decided to tough it out. He did not want to let anybody down. As the tour went on, so did his symptoms (extreme fever, chills, night sweats, headaches). After 3 weeks of touring and performing despite his condition he finally made it home. It was very clear, finally seeing him in the flesh, that his condition was serious.

After 2 failed attempts to get proper medical care from primary care and the ER, a doctor finally noticed that his heart rate was at 150 and climbing. This was combined with a high fever. He was stabilized and, after extensive testing, diagnosed with Endocarditis. The testing included multiple echocardiograms and two invasive scope procedures. These procedures showed that one of his heart valves was critically deteriorated.

Aaron will need aggressive antibiotic treatment combined with heart surgery to give him a new valve. This is a very invasive surgery and downtime for this will be lengthy. It may be a full year before he is back to normal.

Luckily, his medical care will be completely covered. Unfortunately, his rent and bills will not.

Since being in the ICU, Aaron has expressed to me that he is stressing about how he will have money to pay bills and that he wants to get back to work as soon as possible. This is not what someone fighting for their life should be worried about. The goal of this fundraiser is to remove that stress and allow him the proper time to heal without worry. The funds will be directly deposited into Aaron’s bank account. There is no amount to small and everything helps.
