Help Abby Attend Summer Broadway Intensive!

Hey, everyone! I’ve been presented with an INCREDIBLE opportunity for this summer following the Prairie Repertory Theatre season. I recently received my official acceptance letter for Open Jar Institute’s Summer Broadway Intensive in Times Square, New York City! This intensive is a week full of acting, dance, and voice workshops and classes taught by Broadway professionals!

 

I was admitted to this program after performing in the Musical Theatre Intensive at this year’s Region 5 Kennedy Center for the Arts College Theatre Festival. I received invaluable direction from the clinicians during the workshop, and then I performed in a virtual cabaret alongside some of the best collegiate musical theatre artists in the Midwest. I was named first-runner-up at the award ceremony, and was nominated by one of our guest judges, Broadway actress and Open Jar representative Karen Burthwright, for acceptance!

 

The total cost of this intensive—including tuition, housing, and travel expenses—adds up to be around $4,000. However, I would appreciate any amount that you would be willing to give. Even a dollar would help me get one step closer to my goal of attending this incredible program!

 

I’ve been blessed with the MOST supportive family, friends, mentors, and community that have always lifted me up and pushed me forward as I pursue my passion for music and theatre. I do not take for granted how lucky I am to do what I love every day.
