Help Abdallah's Family Escape Gaza

Donation protected
Please help Abdallah, who was maimed by Israeli bombs, escape Gaza with his family.

My name is Abdallah Alathamnah. I'm a three-time survivor of Israeli bombings in Gaza. The first time was on November 7, 2006, when I was seven years old. An Israeli tank started shelling our family's homes in Beit Hanoun, Gaza for half an hour while we were sleeping. My family and I were running for our lives. By the time the shelling ended, I had lost my mother, my two sisters, my grandparents, and 12 other members of my extended family. When news reporters descended on our town to document this atrocity, Israel admitted that they indeed bombed the Alathamnah family compound but offered an unapologetic apology by claiming it was a mistake. No one was ever held accountable for this ugly crime.

I needed multiple surgeries to amputate most of my leg, then I got a prosthesis through PCRF (Palestine Children Relief Fund). As I grew, I needed more surgeries to get a bigger prosthesis and to remove lodged shrapnel in my gut.

That was in 2006. In the years since, I've been trying to heal physically and psychologically, but relentless Israeli attacks on civilians have made it nearly impossible. In 2014, my home was again struck with Israeli bombs, wounding me in the back and destroying my prosthetic leg.

More of an my story:

Now 24 and the father of two beautiful girls, myself and my immediate and extended families are trapped in Gaza fighting for our lives while trying to escape Israeli genocide.

We've been on the run since our home in Beit Hanoun was destroyed last October. The family spent many months sheltering at a school in Rafah but recently was forced to flee again, this time to a desolate desert area in Mawasi just east of the destroyed city of Khan Yunis.

We've have been battling starvation and a lack of clean drinking water and medical attention along with a sea of humanity that are residing in the new erected tent city

On top of that, I can barely walk because my prosthetic leg has been damaged and widespread hunger in Gaza has made me lose so much weight that it no longer properly fits.

I consider myself a resilient man. I'm in many ways, a symbol of Palestinian strength and resilience. But I'm scared and terrified that if I do not get my family out of the enclave soon, they will be killed as the genocide grinds on. "There is no safe place in Gaza," as the UN and other himantarian agencies are saying.

We, the organizers of this fundraiser, are George and Joan Abuhamad, of Yorba Linda, California.

We hosted Abdallah at our home in 2010 when a nonprofit group called the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund flew him to Los Angeles for a special surgery. Abdallah became like a son to us. We love him deeply and are desperate to help get him and his family out of Gaza to safety.

We need to raise over $60,000. It would pay for costs charged by an agency that can give them visas and travel documents tn Egypt once the Rafah border crossing opens up. The charges are an average of $7,500 per adult and $2,500 per child. Any money left over it will be used for housing in Egypt
The names of the family members we hope to help escape are:
1. Abdallah Alathamnah, age 26 years old
2. Wife Iman
3. Daughter Manal, 6 years old
4. Daughter Rital, 2 years old
5. Father Ramez, age 48
6. Step mom Mayada, age 38
7. Sister Maysã, 13 years old
