Help Abdiwahid get a new kidney

Abdiwahid is a vibrant 19 year old, who loves sports and going to school. Amongst his family Abdiwahid is always a shoulder to lean on and has such a kind and soft manner about him.
Abdiwahid was living his teenage, normal life when he was suddenly diagnosed with kidney failure. He is currently in Somalia where there are no services for specialized medical assistance in kidney transplantation.
There have been incurring costs his family have taken in moving him from the rural Caabudwaaq, Galguduud region to the Capital city Muqdisho, and in paying for his ongoing dialysis at a private Turkish hospital.
The recommended treatment for Abdiwahid's condition is to receive new kidney(s) or stay on dialysis for the rest of his life. Staying on dialysis for the rest of Abdiwahid's life would cripple him longterm because of the incurring costs, as well as longterm displacement as his rural town does not have a dialysis machine.
Due to the inefficient health system in Somalia, Abdiwahid has been recommended to go to Turkey to get a new kidney. He needs funds to travel to Turkey in order to receive the medical treatment he is not afforded in Somalia.
Abdiwahid would need a guardian/family member to go with him as well as one of his young brothers as a donor, as Turkey needs a viable donor to come alongside the patient. The costs associated would be: travel expenses for him, the guardian, and his brother to Turkey (about $3,000); accommodation whilst he is there ($2,000); thorough medical assistance and treatment ($2,000-$3,000); and then finally the cost of giving him new kidney(s) (about 20,000-24,000 USD).

As Abdiwahid's cousin who is privileged in Canada, it breaks my heart to see how unresponsive the healthcare system is to Abdiwahid's needs. Seeing how urgent this situation is makes me evermore motivated to reach out to my community to find financial supports to send him to Turkey.
Any amount of money towards this cause would mean so much to Abdiwahid and our family. Thank you in advance for your support!

Hey everyone, with all the crazy whirlwind of things happening in the world, I have an amazing update regarding my cousin. I am pleased to inform you all that my cousin had his kidney surgery at the end of February, in Istanbul Turkey, and it went well!! As a family and community we collectively fundraised over $50,000 for him. His mother, who is a match, volunteered to donate her kidney to her son. They are now in recovery period and he is currently in rehabilitation on anti-rejection drugs. He is doing well, but has lost a lot of weight and gaining back his strength and health. His mother is in good health and recovering. Major thank you goes out to Turkish government/embassy staff, Turkish and Somali doctors and everyone who contributed to the fundraiser in some way. Unbelievably grateful for all the amazing support that we've received in this time. Much love xoxo. And hope this brings you happiness, I know it has definitely been a source of happiness for my family and myself .
