Help Abeil's Family with Funeral Costs

UPDATE: Thank you, thank you, thank you for your condolences, prayers, and contributions. We have met our goal.

We laid Abeil to rest on May 2nd, 2024. We are working on his headstone and will be using the funds raised for those costs as well as the costs incurred for the funeral.

It is with a heavy, heavy heart that I write these words: My name is Hiwot Adilow and my brother, my very first friend, Abeil Adilow, has passed away.

Abeil Adilow, born on July 19, 1996, died in the early hours of April 30, 2024 after a fatal car accident. He was 27 years old. More importantly, he was my brother, a true friend, a devoted son, and so much more.

Abeil was born and raised in Philadelphia to his father, Adilow Shiwerasha, and his mother, Yeshiemebet Belay Gebreselassie. He was a member of Central High School’s 273rd graduating class. He was also a graduate of Temple University. After graduating from college, he began a career as a software engineer and had been studying daily to improve his skills.

It has been a devastating 24 hours and the rest of our lives are forever changed by this loss. And still, the memories of Abeil and his love, his humor, his generosity and care will keep us. There is so much richness to my brother that cannot be summed up in words.

The family and our community is in disbelief with this unexpected death. During this difficult time, we are asking for the community's support to cover the funeral and associated costs.
