Help Abi Afford Surgery URGENT

Who am I

My name is Abi and I’m a trans woman based in Wales whose vaginoplasty has already been booked and scheduled for the start of June this year.

I have known I would need this for as long as I can remember, and prior to organising surgery my mental and physical health deteriorated massively and it is clear that access to surgery is necessary for my survival.

Context

Due to unforeseen circumstances the main source of funding for surgery has fallen through and will no longer be available. Since I only found out in mid April it is too late to reschedule the date or to reclaim my deposit, setting back my ability to get surgery by potentially years. This is not an option for me - I cannot understate how devastating losing this opportunity would be for my mental health and physical wellbeing, especially with so much time, energy and money invested into it up to this date.

What the funds would be used for

The surgery deposit as well as the hotel costs have already been paid, and this deposit is non-refundable. While I may be able to cover some amount of the costs through a loan or similar, the amount for the gofundme is the minimum amount required to make the payment to the clinic. Any further donations would reduce the amount of debt I am forced to go into.
