Help Abigail Save Her Father

This fundraiser is to help my dear friend Abs to help her father to the best of her abilities. I hope you take some time to read her story and to give her and her family a chance:

My father is stuck battling for his own life in the court of law. He’s 79 years old, disabled, and suffers from severe cognitive impairment amongst other health issues. And the stress of having to survive amidst this legal battle continues to destroy his will to keep fighting. We’ve spent almost 3 years apart from each other as the investigations on the alleged corporate crime stuck him out in Singapore where he has minimal support for necessities. We continue to be apart because of the pandemic and the travel restrictions.

My father continues to fight his battles alone without the love of his family, and it hasn’t been easy to keep things afloat. Despite doing our best to support him, with bills between Malaysia and Singapore, there are days where he goes without food or his medication/medical treatment in order to scrape by. It hasn’t been easy, and it’s horrific and heart breaking at best. But I believe that we can still fight and figure out a path forward.

Right now, my father needs legal representation for a chance at a fair trial. All of this is just in order to have a strong defense team so he has a fighting chance.

This case is about an elderly man that was heavily taken advantage of by the people he once trusted. He naively trusted the wrong people that took advantage of him and stole his identity.

The money is a lot and I want to be transparent with where it’s going, which is why I’ve set up a small site (helpdefendabsdad.carrd.co) that will be periodically updated with bank statements and lawyer receipts, alongside updates on the amount of money raised. The moment I am able to get the lawyers to provide receipts, I will upload it for everyone that needs to understand the processes + breakdown of the costs.

The goal of this fundraiser is to offer my father some sort of peace in this harrowing time and to reunite my family. I want to help my dad plead his case in court with a good sense of backing. Donations, shares, and even a whole lot of prayer have now suddenly become the defining factor between an old man dying in prison or living his years with his family.
