Help Ace Heal: Surgery Fundraiser

Hello! My name is Bahareh and this is my baby Ace. This precious boy has been a part of my life since 2018 when he was only 8 weeks old. He has helped me so much in the past 7 years in ways that he doesn’t even know, and I have to do everything that I can to help him. Although we’ve been through a lot, we never thought we’d get to this point, and here we are, but I'm still very grateful.

Ace has been dealing with a bad infection for some time now, so we’ve been taking visits to the vet clinic every other month for the past year. During his last visit, he jumped off the bench at the vet due to anxiety and since he has severe hip dysplasia, this injury caused him to stop using that leg. For the past two months, he has been unable to go up and down the stairs (we live on the third floor with no elevator and I have been carrying him), walk without pain and constant adjustment, run with his puppy friends, and do many things he used to love. His emotional state has completely changed, and he is very obviously depressed. This has impacted his quality of life, a life that he should have many more years to enjoy. It hurts me so much to see my baby this way.

I took him to get X-rays done, and the results were far worse news than expected. His left hip is completely dislocated, and he has arthritis. It was so heartbreaking receiving this information, and I can't imagine how much pain he’s in, but my baby has been so strong. The doctor informed us that surgery is the only solution, and as I am currently applying for dental school and working part-time, this was so unexpected. His surgery needs to be done soon or it will put his other hip at a higher risk of dislocating due to overuse with existing hip dysplasia. I’ve done all that I can possibly do on my own, and now I must turn to my community to help me and Ace.
