Hello Everyone,
My name is David Kraft. I am entering my 4th year of psychodynamic psychotherapy training at Ontario Psychotherapy and Counseling (OPC) in Toronto. This coming year I begin practicing, as a student, and writing my thesis to become a professional therapist and help other. Covid has been a real game changer for so many people, including myself. I have been struggling with keeping employment, due to shut downs, and recognizing the loss of my godfather due to the Covid-19. I come from a low socio-economic status family, who don't have the means to help, and my program is a small career college and DOES NOT qualify for student loans. I have been paying for school out of my own pocket for the past 3 years. I had been able to keep the ball rolling with savings over this year, but that has dried up as well. I have worked in the arts and in the service industry through out my life. I have been a fundraising figure for the arts and artists my whole adult life as well. Due to the circumstances of this pandemic I have lost employment and my arts lifestyle. I don't know where else to turn. Psychotherapy is a career I strongly believe in. My entire life all I ever wanted to do is inspire other and help people to see their own potential. I have always done whatever I could for other, this is the first time I'm asking for help for myself. My goal here, at go fund me, would be the minimum for the next year of my program. I have 2 more years to complete before becoming a psychodynamic psychotherapist and be there for other who are in need of help.
